Latest Update 17 July 2023- BJP candidates have won five of the 11 Municipal Corporation mayoral elections in the state, while Congress and AAP candidates have won one seat each. Counting continues in Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur, with BJP candidates leading in two seats and Congress candidates in two seats. Pushyamitra Bhargava, BJP’s mayoral candidate from Indore, is running ahead of Congress candidate Sanjay Shukla. BJP’s Malti Rai is leading in Bhopal. Shobha Sikarwar of Congress is leading in Gwalior and Jagat Bahadur Singh of Congress is leading from Jabalpur. Aam Aadmi Party’s Rani Aggarwal won the Singrauli Municipal Election.

In this phase, 133 municipal bodies (11 Municipal Corporation, 36 Municipal Corporation and 86 Municipal Council) of 44 districts were voted on July 6. In Bhopal area today, the polling will be held in Rajgarh, Byavara, Sehore, Vidisha, Ganjbasauda, Guna, Ashoknagar, Rahli, Itarsi, Baitul, Amla, Harda. That means a total of eight lakh 57 thousand 378 voters have voted. Among them, 4 lakh 59 thousand 274 male voters and 3 lakh 98 thousand 67 female voters have voted. Which is six percent less than the 2015 turnout.
